FHL big toe stretch

FHL big toe stretch

What you should feel?? When performed correctly, you will feel a stretch under the big toe and along the under arch of the foot.

Instructions:

  • Find a corner of a wall or doorway
  • Place your big toe against the wall, with the other toes out to the side
  • Bend the knee and attempt to take it past the wall and hold
  • The further you go the stronger the stretch will be
  • Hold for an allocated time

Main muscles targeted:

  • Flexor hallicus longus

Main benefits:

To lengthen and stretch the flexor hallicus longus muscle. This stretch isolates this muscle and puts a stronger stretch on the area as opposed to stretching all toes at once.
