FHL big toe stretch
FHL big toe stretch
What you should feel?? When performed correctly, you will feel a stretch under the big toe and along the under arch of the foot.
Instructions:
- Find a corner of a wall or doorway
- Place your big toe against the wall, with the other toes out to the side
- Bend the knee and attempt to take it past the wall and hold
- The further you go the stronger the stretch will be
- Hold for an allocated time
Main muscles targeted:
- Flexor hallicus longus
Main benefits:
To lengthen and stretch the flexor hallicus longus muscle. This stretch isolates this muscle and puts a stronger stretch on the area as opposed to stretching all toes at once.
