Group Classes

Group classes cater for all ages and needs.

We run group classes at very competitive prices. We also keep most of our groups to a maximum of 6 people so you still get a very PERSONAL experience. Group classes are a fun way to get fit and address your longstanding injury problems too. The classes are designed so that even though it is in a group setting, it is tailored to your needs with each exercise coming from a physiotherapy background to get you fit and strong in ways you have never been before.

Where: Group classes are run on site in our Mona Vale gym. We have 2 separate gym studios on site! Over 150sqm of gym space to use for rehab and fitness.

Cost effective: Our classes are very reasonable in price. Health fund rebates are available upon receipt after each class*.

Rebates from private Health: These classes are rebateable from your private health which brings the cost even further down. You have to have undertaken a Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology assessment with our therapists first to be eligible for these types of group classes.

Joints Health:

Our main aim is to get you fit, keep you fit AND avoid injury/ joint wear and tear whilst doing so. Exercise that gets the same results, if not better and also prevents the unnecessary wearing out of your bodies joints. The best of both worlds!

Unfortunately the health industry is flooded with group classes and programs that push the body to achieve muscular results, however they forget the future of your joints and tendons! The joints in our bodies do not repair themselves like muscles do, meaning that each time you use them in a way they are not meant to be used, they get one step closer to arthritis and potentially chronic pain. Our class exercises have been developed over years from a Physiotherapy/ Exercise Physiology and Personal training perspective in order to achieve this balance of results and protection.

Bone Density:

Being a Bone Densitometry centre with a DEXA scanner for Bone Density, we get plenty of referrals from our local GP’s and specialists to train patients with Bone Density issues. Osteoporosis and Osteopenia is a major issue, especially in the female population but can still be very prevalent in males. It is the main cause for fractures later in life with minimal trauma which can lead to an array of secondary complications.

Our classes have targeted exercises with the corect stimulus, rep range, and intensity to illicit a real response in bone density. It is important to not that it takes time, consisstency and gradual increase in intensity in order to acheive bone density results. 

Fat Loss:

Holistic Physio Fitness was founded by Andrew Sumner who has been in the health industry as a personal trainer for nearly 2 decades now. Holistic Physio Fitness specialises in weight loss, with access to the most precise state of the art DEXA scanner to test our results. As long as you are willing to stay motivated, we ensure that you reach your goals in the safest and most effective way. What’s most important to understand is that unlike most of the health industry, we aim to reach your goal and keep you there. Believe it or not, a lot of the health industry does not have the knowledge or techniques to MAINTAIN your achievement’s with weight loss because to put it bluntly, most people are not losing fat….they are losing muscle!!!

Muscular Strength:

Building muscle, or maintaining muscle mass is one of the most important things to focus on for ALL human beings. Our classes cover full body muscular strength, endurance and overall conditioning.

As we age our muscle mass drastically declines, and keeping it at a healthy level is harder than most think. Strength and muscle mass are two separate things but can be achieved at the same time with the proper programming. Hypertrophy is the increase in the size of skeletal muscle and is very difficult to achieve, even for a young male with lots of testosterone. Injury Prevention/ Treatment:

Have a current injury, or a past injury? We all do to some extent. Well you have come to the right place. We believe that you will find no better place than Holistic Physio Fitness to train for a goal and prevent or rehabilitate injury at the same time. We tailor classes to increase strength, fitness and bone density, all at the same time as rehabilitating injuries or niggles you may have. What’s more is that we are able to reduce the likelihood of re-injury or exacerbation of your injuries to a bare minimum…because not only are we skilled personal trainers and Exercise Physiologists, but also Physiotherapists. Our classes involve all these professionals to some degree. Our approach is a holistic one, meaning you will have the care of all our staff, working as a team!

Rebates vary between funds. Please check your Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology coverage. Coverage will only be provided for eligible conditions under Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology respectively. Eligibility will be at the discretion of your therapist.
